Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!!

As you might imagine, we sophisti-kids are quite lucky to have lots of friends and family.  This means, of course, that we had a FEAST of delicious food for Thanksgiving.

Our main dishes included the obligatory poultry dish (that’s what mommy calls it), braised ribs, and grilled salmon.  Here are pictures of those dishes:

For our sides, we had mac-and-cheese, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus (Karsen arranged the asparagus), cucumber salad,  chanterelle mushrooms, grilled zucchini, grilled chayote, grilled tomatoes, and pomegranate.  This is what they looked like:

And of course ever feast needs dessert!  We had macarons (from Essence Bakery in Tempe) and cheesecake.

Special thanks to all who came to join us! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving also!

  1. I think we seriously gained at least 5 lbs that weekend from all the yummy foods. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts as always!

  2. That was delicious.

And don’t forget…we took the leftover salmon and braised ribs and turned them into tacos 2 days later. Those were delicious also.

  3. Looking at the pictures makes me hungry again! Thanks for hosting a delicious Thanksgiving — and for taking us hiking to work it off 🙂

  4. wow, what a yummy looking thanksgiving. The root vegetables under the chicken(?) look delicious. The braised ribs as well. I usually feel that they overcook salmon at most restaurants in the US, yours look perfectly prepared. The sides looked scrumptious as well, particularly the chanterelle mushrooms!

    1. Thanksgiving dinner was terrific (that was one of the spelling words in Karsen’s spelling bee – by the way, Karsen wound up being runner-up!). Yes, you found us out – our obligatory poultry was indeed chicken. None of us like turkey that much so Papa made two kinds of chicken. One was Thomas Keller’s recipe and the other was Ferran Adria’s. The one you saw (with the root vegetables) was Keller’s recipe. The chanterelle mushrooms were delicious – especially with the mashed potatoes and braised ribs!!!!
